Made Of Gears - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

I just finished working up my second ever Threadless submission. It's pending approval at the moment, but I wanted to post it here as well, just cause. I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with a good not-too-, but-still-steampunky t-shirt design, and I really like this one. I've got another design idea that I'll work up later this week.

Even if this doesn't get approved or selected for printing at Threadless I would like to make a run of these myself at some point. Click the thumbnail to see the full design! And if it gets approved, do me a favor and go vote for it!

Update

Now you can show some steampunky love to your computer with this new desktop wallpaper image! Click the image below for a 2560x1600 pixel image which you can crop and scale to your whim. Enjoy!

UPDATE #2

The design was just approved at Threadless, so please go vote for it! Also, help spread the word! The more people vote, the more likely we'll all be able to wear one of these shirts by 2009!

The Bat-Meme!

Just some fun for a wednesday...

LunarBistro store updated with new items

Hey, all:

I'm not sure if you're all aware of my other site, lunarbistro.com, but I just updated the store over there with the third pack of my 8-Bit Tarot cards, and a couple new buttons. You should go check it out!

Webcomics I Want to Read More

I don't often give myself the time to read webcomics the way I used to. There aren't many that I check in on very often at all anymore, in all honesty. However, I'm often finding links to comics that I want to read, and I wanted to take a moment to share some of them with you today:

Clockwork Game

Clockwork Game is, as the subtitle suggests, a historical comic about the infamous Mechanical Turk chess-playing automaton built in the 18th century. There is nothing about that concept that doesn't excite me tremendously.

Phoenix Requiem

Phoenix Requiem is a Victorian paranormal comic that threatens to be just massively epic. I haven't had the chance to read Sarah's comic at depth (I'm only a couple chapters into it myself), but the artwork just sucks me in like crazy.

The Rainbow Orchid

Rainbow Orchid is another modern comic being told in the ligne claire style made popular by artists such as Hergé and Joost Swarte. Another great-looking adventure comic which I haven't been able to read all the way through, yet, though I'm looking forward to its impending publication next year.

Gastro-Phobia

The only humorous comic on my short-list today, Gastro-Phobia follows the adventures of Phobia, an Amazon warrior exiled for being afraid of spiders, and her son Gastro. This is a fairly new comic, so I have actually been able to read all of it so far, and I just can't get over how much fun David seems to be having making these comics. It really comes through in the art.

Steampunk Carved Birds

It should come as no surprise, considering the content of my comics here, that i appreciate good steampunk. This short article at BoingBoing spotlights an artist who's reconfiguring various antique carvings into some very steampunk-inspired sculptures. Reminds me of Clash of the Titans...
