I'm happy and excited to announce the launch of a new Kickstarter project to help me complete production and publication of Ellie Connelly and the Eye of the Vortex!

If you've followed this comic for any amount of time, you know how hard it has been for me to keep up with a regular schedule and how long it takes me to do a page. A big part of the reason for that is the somewhat unpredictable schedule I keep as an independent contractor doing design and programming work for my clients. The work has kept me above water (more or less), but it's pretty demanding on my time. And when I'm not working, I'm often looking for more work, which also takes time away from producing pages.

So, the primary goal of this Kickstarter project is to raise $25,000 which will minimize my reliance on the contracting work to pay my bills, allowing me full-time flexibility to work on Ellie Connelly. If I can achieve this goal, I should be able to start producing two new pages each week, and to complete the entire book (92 pages remain) within a year. I would also have enough money to publish the first book at least, and lay a foundation for future publications.

I'm offering some great incentives like digital copies of the comic, a laser-etched USB drive to store them on, and the option of a softcover or hardcover copy of the book when it's finished --the hardcover will only be available through this fundraiser! You can also have your likeness put into the comic, commission original artwork from me, purchase the original art for one of the covers, and host the book release party when Volume One is published! All Kickstarter supporters will also gain access to a secret area of this blog (which you caught a sneak peek of a few weeks back if you were subscribed to the RSS feed), where I'll be posting more detailed progress updates and photos of pages-in-progress.

The fundraiser begins today, and will run for 60 days. I've got a lot of money to raise, and it's going to take all the help I can get! I appreciate your support and patience so far, and I'm excited to be getting back on this horse!
